Just a few pictures to hold you over...

Not much to report other than I am working tonight so that means Ellie is staying with De De while Don goes to the men's Wild Game dinner at church.

We have been working on her coordination a little.  She is really getting the hang of it!

This weekend, we have big plans!  We are taking Ellie to the Zoo!  We will finally get some use out of our Zoo membership that Ellie got for Christmas, and we can't wait!  Stay tuned for picture overload:)

Pray for Lucy

Please pray for this 5 year old little girl, Lucy Krull.  She is from the Memphis area and is at LeBonheur waiting to go to St. Jude.

Ellie's new tricks

Little Miss E has really taken a major liking to her baby dolls in the past few weeks.  She holds them, pats them, bangs their head against the brick and gives them lots 13 month old love!

Sunday, she finally got the hang of giving a kiss!  Every time we say "Ellie, give her some sugar" she does this...

Her other new thing is to give us "sugar" as well.  It is my favorite!  For some reason when she gives us kisses, we get the wet slobbery open mouthed kisses, but hey, i'll take what I can get!

Every time I pull the camera out now, this is the weird cheesy smile I get.  It's like she is anticipating the bright flash before it goes off!

Giving baby her paci.  I think she has finally realized that paci is not for her!

Taking baby for a stroll...

Love the baby!

Her other new trick I am not as proud of...

HA!

13 months!

I am almost a week late, but that's pretty much the story of my life these days.

Ellie turned 13 months this past Saturday!  That month after her birthday just flew by.  So what is she up to?

We are still waiting on her vocab to take off.  I thought surely she would be saying more real words by now, but I guess not.  She still "talks" all the time, but just her own language.  She definitely understands what we are saying and that is much more important.

She is a picky, picky eater.  I know that is normal at this age, but it still bothers me.  Meal time is definitely a challenge.  I am still packing baby food for MDO because I know she will eat it and won't starve!

She started MDO twice a week on February 1st!  While I don't love how it doubled in cost, that extra day really makes a difference, and the social interaction is so good for her.

Still taking one night time bottle of formula.  I'm just not quite ready to take it away!

Wearing 12 month clothes, size 3 or 4 shoe and size 3 diaper.  Still tall!

LOVES Elmo and Sesame Street.

Books are her favorite thing, by far!   Good thing she got 40+ books for Christmas, because we were starting to get tired of the same ones.  We will finish one book and she will go get another and bring it to us to read.  I LOVE that!

She has really become a Daddy's girl recently, and it is so sweet.  I know Don loves it too!

We love you big girl!  I cannot believe you are 13 months old!

It's Wednesday!

I am clearly in desperate need of more creativity when it comes to my titles.  Blogging just hasn't "flowed well" for me this week.  That doesn't mean there isn't anything to talk about, and I really don't think my 3 faithful followers care what I write about as long as it includes pictures of a certain little girl:)

Since my creative juices are lacking, I am sticking with bullet points.  It's just easier.

  • The whole milk situation is getting better.  I have been given lots of suggestions, but I am sticking to my guns with this one.  No chocolate syrup here!
  • Cheese is the only thing Ellie will eat.  (hence the reasoning behind NO syrup, I've already ruined her with cheese).  She is a Pitt, mac-n-cheese runs in their blood:)
  • Ellie is working on her 7th tooth!  SEVEN.
  • I have been stocking up on some awesome online and Facebook deals for summer.  And no, they are not for me.  I don't think smocked bubbles would be that flattering.
  • We had a fabulous family weekend last weekend and we are now gearing up for 2 weekends in a row with my family...one road trip included.  I cannot wait.
  • Have I mentioned Don is back in school this semester?  Well he is!  And he has straights A's!  That Coach Pitt, he's a genius.
  • Ellie is a walking machine.  It's so fun to see her become more independent!
  • She is also finally feeling almost 100%.  She is still fussier than usual, but I think I figured out why when I peeked in her mouth this morning and saw another little toothie poking through.  This teething thing is rough.
  • I am SO thankful for my healthy girl.  I may seem dramatic when it comes to her illnesses, but I can't help it.  I cannot stand when she is sick.  I know it could be a whole lot worse so I am counting my blessings.  Breathing treatments are a walk in the park.

On the mend...

**This is just so I will remember...it's not too interesting, just FYI!

And I can't post without any pictures, so here's one for the fam!

Ellie is LOVING her babies lately.  She holds, pats and "loves" on them constantly!

Since I last posted, we have been to the doctor twice to get Ellie's coughing/breathing under control. The first time we didn't see Dr. Amy because she was out of town so we saw the on call doctor.  She made me feel crazy and said Ellie just had a cold and to give her Tylenol and run the humidifier (which by the way, I was already doing both).  A few days later, she was much worse so I made another appointment with Dr. Amy.  Sure enough, she was wheezing and she immediately started her on a nebulizer breathing treatment.

I cannot even go in to detail how horrible that experience was.  Ellie acted like her legs were being cut off and that she was being tied down in a torture chamber.  I felt like I was in one myself!  They just flip the switch on the machine, hand you the mask, and say good luck!  It was awful.  I am sure everyone in the lobby could hear her screaming.  We left with Albuterol syrup and an antibiotic.  Thank goodness for that syrup because I seriously could not endure going through another one of those breathing treatments.  Thankfully, Ellie is much better, 6 days later.

We had a big weekend and she stayed up WAY past her bedtime Saturday.  She felt hot to me after we got home and was running a fever of 101.  This is big for her, she has never run a fever, ever.  I gave her Tylenol and hoped for the best.  She did not sleep at all Saturday night, so we stayed home from church again yesterday.  Poor thing just can't catch a break!  She woke up fever free yesterday but still refused to sleep.  We finally put her in the car and drove around so she could rest.

Hallelujah, last night she slept ALL night!  I woke up quite a few times to check on her because she seriously did not make a peep and it worried me.  That Albuterol is no joke.  Don thinks she may have been coming off of all of the meds and that was why she wasn't sleeping or eating well.  It was so hard to see her fussy and SO tired.  Thankfully, she is on the mend and I am making sure she gets back on her regular sleeping/eating schedule today.

Some random happenings...

Nothing too exciting going on here...just thought I needed to do a quick update!
  • Ellie has a horrible croupy sounding cough and terrible runny nose.  I'm afraid it might be bronchitis again:(  She was pretty pitiful.
  • I let her "feed herself" apple sauce today.  That went well.  HA!
  • We had a girls date tonight at Chick-fil-a with Auntie Em...always fun!
  • We went to Elam's 1st birthday party last night and had a great time!
  • I broke out "the tracksuit" for Ellie to wear today.  She seriously looks cute in ANYTHING!  I've been calling her "sporty spice".
  • The whole milk situation is not going any better.  HELP!  She will not drink it.  Period.
  • She does however love these baby food pouches.  Too bad they are like $2.25 a pop!  Ouch.

  • I joined Twitter!  Follow me @emileey1.  I know, I know, just what I need... something else to become addicted to!  I put it off long enough.  It's so fun!
