Five on Friday

TGIF!!!!!

I love this little "Five on Friday" link up and I really love Fridays!

1.  Ellie is still in Bartlett with Peeps and DeDe and Don has an away game tonight.  Mammie offered to keep Miller for me tonight so I can go to Don's game.  Thank you Mammie!  It will be nice to go and watch a whole game (and hopefully WIN!)

2.  Tomorrow morning bright and early Don and I are headed to Oxford, MS to cheer on the Rebels against LSU!  I am sure it will be a great game.  We have sideline/IPF passes again this year and can't wait to see some old LU friends.  Can't believe this time last year when we went I was 7 weeks along with baby Miller.  What a year it has been!

3.  Miller reached another little milestone yesterday...he rolled over!  I of course missed it just like with Ellie, but he did it again later on and has been a little roly poly ever since!

4.  Those of you that know me well know that this little trick Miller has picked up terrifies me.  And his father is less than thrilled.  That's all I am going to say!  (But it is kinda cute!)
 5.  Check out my little twins!  This picture really doesn't show how alike they really look but I can't get over the fact that M is 5 months and E was 9!  He is HUGE!!!!  Love my little football babies!

DeDe to the rescue

This is SO me.  Ha ha!!!  Poor DeDe must have heard the cry for help in my voice last week.  She came back for 4 more days to help.  We welcomed her with open arms!

While she was here we broke out the doorway jumper.  Thank goodness Miller is a fan!
(and big sis is never far away from him...she couldn't miss out on a big even like "first time jumping"!)

She and Ellie also made the cutest Halloween cupcakes while she was here.  Ellie loves to be a kitchen helper.

Don was on Fall break while she was here and let the team have Monday off.  We took advantage and took Ellie to Jackson to shop, eat and run a few errands.  We had fun!!!

She sadly left Tuesday afternoon but took Ellie home with her!  She is finishing out her "fall break" (no dance, church or Awana) with Peeps and DeDe.  I can tell from these pictures that she isn't having any fun AT ALL. Ha!
Thank you DeDe for always running to our rescue and loving my babies!!!

Fire Prevention

Every year in October, Greenfield hosts their annual Fire Prevention Festival.  It is a week full of spaghetti suppers, carnivals, a parade, and so much more.  Mrs. Carla (Ellie's babysitter) arranges for the Fire Chief, the fire trucks and Fire Pup to visit her house during Fire Prevention week.  All of the kids wore matching shirts and had a fun day of fire truck rides!  I stayed home with Miller but Mrs. Carla and Ella's mom were sweet enough to take pictures and send them to me.

I had Miller a shirt made before he got sick.  He of course had to wear it too even though we stayed home!

RSV?  What RSV??  Sweet baby.

DeDe came up Saturday morning and stayed with Miller while we took Ellie to the carnival. parade and reunion.
We even managed to sneak out on a little "date" Saturday night.  Thank you DeDe!

The Punkin Patch

Before we knew Miller had pneumonia, we decided to get out on a pretty Saturday afternoon, dress the kids up and head over to the pumpkin patch.  I had already bought most of my pumpkins but we still had to go for our yearly trip and photo shoot.  This year we had another addition to our clan and I think we got some really great pictures!

Taylor "Swip"

A few weeks back, I got the chance to head out on a last minute girls trip to Nashville to go to the Taylor Swift concert!  It was a much needed day away and we had a great time.  I have always liked Taylor's music but I can officially say that I am now a big fan.  She puts on a great show.  Ellie would have loved it!  Next time she is in town we will have to go back together.

A two hour drive flies by when you have 3 good friends to chat with.  We made it there in no time!

We stopped and shared some nachos before the show then made our way to our SUITE seats!  We just so happened to be next to the Ryman Suite where cast members from the show Nashville were sitting.  So fun!

Such a fun show.

We had so much fun that we decided we were going to plan some sort of outing/get together once a month.  We better get busy planning for October!!!

Ellie has now become a big fan herself and is obsessed with listening to Taylor and watching her on YouTube.  I had to share this video of her singing "22"!

4 months old...sick sick sick

I am home today with a very sick baby.  I am using this down time to hopefully get caught up on a few posts!

Only three weeks late...Miller turned 4 months old!
Sweet baby Miller, you are just too cute for words.  I kiss your big fluffy cheeks a million times a day.  Your smile makes me silly.  Your eyes are so pretty and blue.  Your thighs and rolls just might be the cutest things I have ever seen.  You are such a joy.

But I have to admit...this fourth month of your life hasn't been so easy or enjoyable in a lot of ways.  As hard as that is to admit, it is the truth.  It has been a hard month on all of us.  You have basically been miserable for weeks and I feel like we have tried it all.  At your 4 month check up, we discovered that you were wheezing which led to breathing treatments, pneumonia, and now RSV.  No wonder you were so fussy and not eating well or sleeping.  Thankfully, I feel like we might finally have a handle on it all and that you are hopefully on your way back to being my happy baby.

When you do feel well though, you smile all day long.  You still don't sleep through the night (that only happened for a few nights before your first double ear infection...sigh) but I am learning to accept that and just deal.  I was pretty  much a grumpy walking zombie for 3-4 weeks when I was traveling a lot and up all night with you.  That was not easy and at times frustrating, but I feel like I have figured a lot of things out about you through all of this illness.  If you don't eat...you have an ear infection.  You were going from NEVER finishing a single bottle all day to sucking down 7 ounces every 3-4 hours.  You had a great few nights this past weekend.  I felt like you were getting back on track with minimal fussing and great eating/sleeping.  Then on Monday night, you were up a lot.  And you weren't happy.  I knew something was up again.  We had a check up scheduled with Dr. Amy on Wednesday and she decided to test for RSV and what do you know...you tested positive.  No wonder.

I am glad we are able to take you to the doctor 7 times in one month (yes, really) and I am so thankful that we are able to provide any medication or remedy or necessity that it takes to get you better.  I am extremely grateful for family near and far that drop everything or try to help any way that they can.  I am beyond thankful for a flexible work schedule that  allows me the time to sit and hold you all day when you don't feel well.  I know I won't ever get these days back with you, as hard as they may be.

I joke and call you my "high maintenance child".  Poor thing, I know you can't help it.  I hate this for you more than you will ever know.  I promise to do my best to keep you from having to endure this ever again!

We love you sweet boy and are looking forward to many happy healthy days ahead!

Catch up?

Where do I begin?  A lot has happened since the last time I posted almost a month ago.  I would apologize for the long wait, but I can't promise it won't happen again.  Blogging has fallen to the bottom of a long list of priorities these days!

We've been to the pumpkin patch, taken a trip to Nashville with DeDe, turned 4 months old, gone to see Taylor Swift, visited Dr. Amy (A LOT) and so much more.  Life is overwhelmingly crazy right now, and if I am being completely honest, most days I feel I am barely keeping my head above water.  I had a friend tell me a couple of months before Miller was born that 2 kids had "rocked her world".  I now know exactly what she means because it has definitely rocked mine!  Even on the hard days and sleepless nights, I still try to remind myself how lucky we are  to have two beautiful (mostly) healthy children to care for and love.

I will try to get caught up eventually, but for now here is a sweet picture we managed to capture last weekend at the pumpkin patch.
