Well since it has been almost a year since my last post and my mother has been saying "you need to blog" here I am again! I wasn't very good at writing about our lives this time last year, but WOW what a year it has been! May 17th was a day I will never forget. It was the day we found out baby Ellie was on her way! We were shocked, scared, excited all at the same time. Lambuth wasn't making payroll. We had only been married a few months. I wasn't ready! But as soon as the hormones calmed down (for a short time, ha) we got used to the idea and now I can honestly say I cannot imagine our lives any other way. I really believe everything happens for a reason and that this sweet baby girl was meant to be in our lives! After an up and down pregnancy, we welcomed Ellie Caroline Pitt into the world on Tuesday, January 26th 2010 at 5:26 pm. She weighed 8 lbs. 4.5 oz and was 21.26 inches long. She made a grand entrance for sure! After learning after my water was broken that there was meconium, we were told that Neonatal Intensive Care nurses would be on stand by in the delivery room just in case there were any issues with her respiration. LONG story short, she was sent over to the NICU, where she is being monitored and finishing up a strict round of antibiotics for 7 days. I am trying not to really dwell on why and how things happened but we have been told since I had a fever and an infected placenta, they want to do 7 full days of antibiotics. Today she is 5 days old, and today is our 1st wedding anniversary. It's crazy, I know. What a whirlwind week we have had. They sent me home Friday the 29th so we have pretty much been back and forth to the hospital for every possible feeding since. Don't forget the streets are terrible and schools are closed from a big snow/ice storm...all I can say is good thing we live so close to the hospital. I don't know how other parents that live far away do it. We visited our baby 4 times today alone! We cannot wait for February 2nd. It is the day we will be bringing our sweet baby home. Our family and friends have been the best support ever. I don't know how we would have made it without them. And to my sweet husband, you have been amazing. Seeing you with our baby and watching you love on her, feed her and change her diapers is probably the most amazing thing ever. I never knew I could love 2 people more!
We love you Ellie, and can't wait to have you all to ourselves...forever!
